Alex Preston

Alex has more than 32 years of operating company and energy executive search experience. Formerly associated with Conoco in operations engineering, he was responsible for engineering evaluations, field coordination, planning, contracts and management development. Alex has conducted search activities ranging from executive management to staff positions worldwide.
He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and is a member and former committee chairman for SPE and API.
Pat Slaughter

Pat has more than 29 years of energy and executive search industry experience. He was associated with TransAmerican Natural Gas Corporation as director of human resources before joining The Energists. He has extensive search experience for technical, commercial and executive staff in the oil and gas industry.
Pat received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and is a member of SPE and GSH.
Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Kapustka

Jeff has 17 years of experience in the executive search business with a diverse portfolio of successful searches conducted in the upstream exploration and production industry, energy services, and the mid-stream market. In addition to his energy portfolio, he has conducted executive searches for companies outside of the energy sector. Prior to joining The Energists, he was the founder of an independent search firm in Houston, J.D. & Associates and also worked for Heidrick and Struggles and the RLR Group, U.S. Partner firm of the Worldwide MSL Group, headquartered in London.
Jeff received his bachelor’s degree from St. Meinrad College in Indiana and is a member of the SPE.
Julian Langham

Julian brings to The Energists 18+ years of executive search experience after leading the International and Domestic “Upstream” E&P programs at two prominent Houston-based Executive Search Firms. Following his early career in the British Army, he spent sixteen years living overseas holding leadership positions with three high profile British, American and Middle Eastern companies involved in major construction, manufacturing, and the oilfield service industries.
Julian is a graduate of Britain’s Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and is a member of NACE.
Brad Macurda

Brad has more than 37 years of academic, energy and executive search industry experience. Prior to joining The Energists, Brad was associated with Exxon in research and research applications in geology and geophysics. He also was a full time professor of geology and geophysics at the University of Michigan. His responsibilities at The Energists include development and instruction of technical training seminars, field trips and workshops in geology and geophysics for client companies worldwide.
He received his bachelor's and doctorate degrees in geology from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of AAPG, AGU, GSA, SEPM, SEG, CSPG, EAEG, PESGB and GS.
