Senior Production Engineer - Pinedale, WY

THE COMPANY:
Our client is one of the top independent exploration and production companies in the United States.  The company’s assets are located in the Rocky Mountain and Appalachian regions of the United States.  The company also has significant acreage and production from the Marcellus Shale play in north-central Pennsylvania.  The company’s growth has been generated organically through the drill bit and currently has over 20 years of economic drilling locations in its inventory.  The company is one of the most successful U.S. energy producers by almost any measure – including reserve growth, return on capital employed, and finding and development cost performance.  The company remains a small company in terms of employees (currently at about 105), however, the company asset base is world class and the company enterprise value exceeds $9 billion.  About half of the company’s employees are based in its Denver office where geoscience, land, engineering, operations and accounting professionals lead the effort to develop and optimize its more than 20 TCFE of captured resources.

The company’s growth and operating performance metrics continue to be exceptional.  Over the last five years, the company has grown at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) for proved reserves of 17%.  During that same period, the production CAGR is 24%.

In 2010, the company posted the following performance metrics:
·        Record net production of 213.6 Bcfe (585 MMcf/d), a 19% increase from 2009.
·        Increased proved reserves by 12% to 4.4 TCFE.
·        Replaced reserves by 324% with a drill-bit F&D of $1.48/Mcfe.
·        All-in costs of $2.68/Mcfe.
·        Operating cash flow of $637.6 million, a 20% increase from 2009.
·        Adjusted net income of $336.3 million, a 19% increase from 2009.
·        Superior returns:
     
o   Net income margin = 31%.
     
o   Cash flow margin = 70%.
     
o   Return on Equity = 39%.
     
o   Return on Capital Employed = 17%.

THE POSITION:
Production Engineers are key contributors to the success of the company.  The ability to extract maximum value from company assets is closely linked to an efficient production process and overall execution in company production operations.  The Senior Production Engineer is accountable for the following:
·   Conduct production engineering analysis to all production operations activities.
·   Lead efforts to investigate, generate, and recommend new technical and operational concepts
     for the improvement of the production process.
·   Evaluate well and operations performance – participate in assessing success and modifying
     actions as necessary where potential for improvements are recognized.
·   Interface with Reservoir Engineering and field personnel to review actual well performance
     versus forecast and adjust well performance as indicated.
·   Participate in the planning, preparation, review, and execution of detailed production
     activities including AFE cost estimates.
·   Develop relationships with industry partners and competing area operators to maintain an
     awareness of their current practices and to implement change in company operations as
     appropriate.
·  
Participate in the bid process for production services – including bid preparation and  review
     and the final selection of service providers.

The Candidate will possess the following credentials:
·   Minimum of ten years +/- production experience – heavy emphasis on well production
     performance optimization of gas wells with fluid lift issues.
·  
Deep, high pressure, tight gas sand onshore production engineering experience.
·  
Proficient user of Excel and industry software specific to production engineering.
·  
Effective interpersonal skills desire to create value in a collaborative team environment.
